「培育幼小愛蔓延 優質教育永向前」 「家校齊心 幼兒獲益深」

         每個孩子都有各自的潛能,只要給予適當的培育,假以時日潛能便能發揮出來。聖文嘉以「愛的教育」為辦學宗旨,強調家庭學校合作,父母師長要互相配合支持,尊重孩子的個別發展,適時給予扶持,讓孩子在愉快環境中學習。

             3-6歲是孩子學習關鍵期,這階段的幼兒可塑性高,容易接受各種思想的影響,無論在智能和語言發展方面,品德培育都是學習最佳時機。因此,學校釐訂了一系列配合孩子發展的課程活動,以提高他們的學習動機,能自發和自主性學習外,也可激發出孩子內在能力以及樹立良好品格

         最近學校很榮幸得到語文教育及研究常務委員會(語常會)採用由本園老師原編的英文故事列入為教材推動學校更致力發展校本英語故事繪本繪本內容圍繞孩子真實環境和情節編寫,用以調動孩子的積極性和集中力。學校於大堂牆壁上設置「有聲英語自學區」英語融入孩子生活當中對學習英語起著重要的啟蒙作用

           學校在課程和環境上不斷持續完善發展,使老師更能發揮專業精神,孩子在愉快學習環境下健康成長,有助建立自尊、自信和自愛正面價值觀,將來才能成為才德兼備的社會棟樑。

Each child is born with unique potential. This deserves to be nurtured and cultivated with the belief that such potential can be fulfilled over the course of time. To achieve the school mission of ‘Education with Love’, St Monica emphasises the importance of collaboration between family and school. Parents and teachers are encouraged to join hands in order to provide an enjoyable learning environment for children. We respect individual differences in children’s development and strive to address their specific needs.

A key learning stage for every child is between the ages of 3 and 6. Children at this stage have huge potential and can be influenced with different ideas. This is a vital time for intellectual and language development, as well as character and moral building. In the light of this, our school has designed a series of learning courses and activities which are compatible with young children’s development. We aim to stimulate their motivation to learn and cultivate their ability to take charge of their own learning. We strive to encourage them to bring out their full potential and to help them develop positive character traits.

 We were honoured recently when the English story written by our teachers was listed as one of the education materials recommended by the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR). The story draws upon everyday life experiences of children to nourish them to use their initiative to learn and improve their concentration. We are greatly encouraged to continue using English storybooks when teaching. An ‘English Audio Self-Learning Corner’ has also been set up in the school lobby to expose children to English in their daily lives. It serves an important role in stimulating children’s English learning.

A further aim of our school is to foster a greater sense of professionalism among teachers. Through the improvement and development of the curricula and environment, we seek to create an increasingly enjoyable learning environment for the children. Our vision is to nurture them to become pillars of society built upon integrity and ability. We seek to develop each child’s self-esteem, confidence, self-love and other positive values.
