The Church of United Brethren in Christ Social Service Division is committed to providing family and youth services, practicing Christian teachings, caring for the community, serving society, and spreading the truth of the Gospel.<\/p>\n

The service objectives are as follows:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To assist youth in their growth, foster their social awareness, encourage them to seek positive life goals and meaning through providing diverse services with professional social work knowledge and skills.<\/li>\n
  2. To support youth in disadvantaged environments for developmental growth and social integration.<\/li>\n
  3. To strengthen family functioning, improve family quality of life, assist parents in guiding their children’s growth in order to establish harmonious family.<\/li>\n
  4. To respond to social changes and actively create a favorable social environment for family and youth.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The “Joyful Start: Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions” provides therapeutic, developmental, supportive, and educational services for young children and their families through intervention methods including case counseling, professional consultations, children\u2019s groups and activities, parent-child activities, parent groups and seminars, and referrals.     [\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Our school has participated in the \u201cOn-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Services\u201d (project) of The Spastics Association of Hong Kong (SAHK) which is subsidized by the Social Welfare Department.
    \nSAHK has a professional team including social workers, special education teachers, speech therapists and occupational therapists, etc., providing free on-site evaluation and training for children with special educational needs.
    \nAccording to the regulations of the Social Welfare Department, the eligibility for this service must be linked to a registered status for pre-school Rehabilitation Services (Early Education and Training Centre, Integrated Programme in Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centre and Special Child Care Centre). HKFWS is one of the major charitable non-governmental social welfare organizations in Hong Kong. It takes a family-centric perspective in providing high quality and professional services to help people improve their lives, and to strength and support family well-being.<\/p>\n

    \u201cNurturing Seeds Kindergarten Social Work Service\u201d offers preventive and developmental services to children and families through case counselling, group activities for children, parent talks, teacher training programs and professional referral.
