Cultivate with 【LOVE】・ Water with 【HEART】
I have served in this school for twenty-five years, and my teaching career has quickly surpassed thirty. Over these years, I have come to deeply understand that the core of education is not only the transmission of knowledge, but more importantly, the nurturing of each young seedling with a sincere heart of love. All our staff have always upheld the school’s mission statement and adhered to the “Four Hearts”: love, care, attentiveness, and patience.
Thankfully, our teachers treat our children with compassion, remaining ever vigilant, carefully observing
their needs, and patiently teaching them. Just as parents never abandon their children, we nurture them with love, accompanying them as they grow.
I look forward to seeing my children smiling as they go to school every day. The smiles on their faces reflect their love for school. I firmly believe that only when children are free of stress and in a joyful mood can they truly enjoy the learning process. “SMILE” is a key indicator of our school’s effectiveness. Its philosophy is closely aligned with the “attitudes, skills, and knowledge” emphasized in the Education Bureau’s curriculum guidelines, and it is also the core of our school’s mission: to cultivate students with good character and healthy cognitive development.
“SMILE” stands for:
S:Social Skills
M:Manners
I:Introspection
L:Language Skills
E:Empathy
In recent years, we have actively leveraged government and external resources to develop our school-based
curriculum. For example, we drew on the principles of the Standing Committee on Language Education and
Research (SCOLAR) to design our school-based Chinese and English curriculum. We also create personalized
English storybooks for each child, even featuring their portraits, to greatly enhance learning motivation.
Furthermore, we extend learning beyond the classroom, taking children on weekly outdoor English learning trips to strengthen their language skills and prepare them for primary school.
Throughout our children’s developmental journey, we prioritize not only imparting knowledge and skills but also cultivating character, self-confidence, and emotional management. Developing positive, confident, and stable emotions from a young age not only aids academic performance but also profoundly impacts future
interpersonal relationships, mental health, and overall life attitudes. Therefore, we offer weekly “Emotion Lessons,” drawing on children’s life experiences and engaging activities to help them understand various emotions and develop skills for expressing and coping with them, preparing them for the challenges of life.
We also compose songs based on passages from the “Disciples’ Rules” to expose children to traditional Chinese culture from an early age, conveying the values of filial piety and respect for teachers through melodies. This is complemented by the school-based “Good Behavior Record Book” and incorporates the school’s “SMILE” educational approach to foster good moral character and positive values in children.
Young children spend far more time at home than at school, and the way they are raised at home has a
profound impact, with parents playing an irreplaceable role. Therefore, we host an annual Parenting Certificate Course for parents, inviting professionals such as Dr. Ju Ying-ti, founder of Good Habits, to share his “20 Good Habits for Young Children” and Mr. Liang Chenmin, Director of the Positive Parenting Academy, to share his “Positive Parenting” philosophy. We aim to provide professional support to parents and collaborate with schools to support their children’s growth.
“When families and schools work together, children benefit more.” As long as we work together and walk side
by side, our children’s growth path will be broader and longer lasting. In an educational environment filled with love and support, every child will thrive. Parents let’s work together and keep going!
